The furthest back I can go is the birth of William Bunker Simkins in Hexton in 1803. His mother was called Sarah but after that the trail is lost. On the other side his wife (Mary Wheatbread) can be traced back to early 1400s. There may be links to Whitbread the brewers.

On my mother's side I have an Irish grandfather who married a scottish lady and who lived in army barracks on the banks of the Nile just after the great war.

I'm on Genes Reunited and will share my tree with you if you contact me.

I've downloaded my family tree as a GED file and turned it into some web pages so you can view it. There's a pass word - contact me for more details
